XML Tools

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how XML Tools, developed by Mohammed Aadhil, handles information when you use the app on Android or iOS.

Data collection

XML Tools does not collect personal or sensitive user data for transmission to the developer or a developer-operated server. This includes:

Files and text you choose to work with are accessed and used locally as described below. Information you voluntarily send by email is handled separately under Support correspondence.

Data access and local file processing

Files and text you open, paste, edit, format, convert, compare, or explore in XML Tools are processed locally on your device. XML syntax checks, Tree View, code generation, and XSD schema generation run inside the app. XSD document validation runs locally on iOS; full XSD validation is not available on Android.

The app accesses the content you open or enter to carry out these actions, even if that content contains personal or sensitive information. File access is subject to the permissions and file access controls provided by Android or iOS. You can manage permissions in your device settings.

Your content is not uploaded to our servers because the app does not use any server-side processing for these features.

Data stored on your device

XML Tools stores your editor preferences, recently opened file names and locations, file-access permissions or bookmarks, copies of XSD schemas you add, schema source locations, and the schema selected for each document in the app’s local storage. The developer does not receive this information.

Depending on your device settings, Android or iOS may include app data in device backups. These backups are handled by your operating system and backup provider.

Internet connections

The app makes download requests when you load a document from a URL, compare against a document at a URL, or add or reload an XSD schema from a URL. Remote schemas must use HTTPS. Document loading uses HTTPS by default and also accepts HTTP where permitted by the operating system. Prefer HTTPS for secure connections.

Schema processing may also attempt to retrieve resources referenced by an XSD. XML Tools does not download the SchemaStore catalog for XML.

Download servers receive the requested URL and standard connection information, such as your IP address and, for app download requests, the app’s name and version. They handle this information under their own privacy policies. Your edited document is not attached to these requests. Any information included in a URL you enter or a schema reference is sent as part of the request, so avoid including confidential information in URLs.

The app also opens external websites when you choose links such as Privacy Policy or Report a Bug. Those websites are governed by their own privacy policies.

No account required

XML Tools does not require you to create an account or sign in to use the app.

There is no XML Tools account or associated account data to delete.

No cloud sync

XML Tools does not sync your files or app data to any cloud service controlled by us.

If you manually save files to iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or another storage provider using system file features on Android or iOS, that action is handled by your device and the selected storage provider.

Data sharing

XML Tools does not sell personal or sensitive user data or share your files, edited content, or device identifiers with the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, or other third parties.

If you choose to save, export, copy, or share content through the system file picker, clipboard, or share sheet, the destination you select, such as an external storage provider, another app, or email, receives that content and handles it under its own privacy policy. This is an action you initiate.

No third-party tracking

XML Tools does not include third-party advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or analytics SDKs.

Secure data handling

File processing takes place on your device, without uploading your content to a developer-operated server or a remote processing service. Access to locally stored files is governed by Android or iOS security and file access controls.

Keep your device and operating system secure, and choose carefully where you save or send sensitive content. Email and external storage services have their own security practices; please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or confidential files in a support request.

Data retention and deletion

The developer does not retain copies of files or text processed locally in XML Tools. Files you save remain in the location you choose until you delete them.

You can clear recent files and remove saved schemas inside the app. Delete saved files using your device’s file manager or the storage provider where you saved them. To remove app-private local data, use Android’s clear-storage controls or delete the app and its data on iOS. Offloading an app on iOS can retain its data. Removing app data does not delete files saved outside the app’s private storage.

Copies in cloud storage, backups, recently deleted folders, or other apps must be removed separately through the relevant device settings or provider. The developer cannot access or remotely delete content stored only on your device or with a provider you choose.
